SECTION 1
The Wing Awards Program recognizes Wing members for their contributions to the well-being and advancement of Wing aims and endeavors, and in support of the RCAFA in general.
The Awards Program is divided into three separate and distinct areas:
a. Nomination of candidates for NATIONAL awards, as per AFAC Booklet 104 “National Honours and Awards”.
b. Nomination and selection of candidates for Wing Chair Award (At the discretion of the Chair). Wing Chair Award is presented to all Wing members in good standing for their special services to the Wing.
Wing Chair will appoint an Awards Chairperson (preferably a member of the Executive Committee) who is responsible for vetting and processing all award nominations through the Wing Executive to the Chair.
Awards deliberations are not discussed outside of the Wing Executive Council and members are not informed of awards until formally announced.
SELECTION OF CANDIDATES
A Wing selection process system must ensure that all eligible Wing members receive fair and unbiased consideration for their participation in Wing and/or Association activities.
The award selection process is under the direct supervision of the Awards Chairperson in concert with the Wing Executive members, who are accountable to the Wing membership.
Wing Executive approval of all nominations is mandatory and should be unanimous in nature. Final authority is vested in the Wing Chair.
SCHEDULING
National Nominations - Must reach Wing Executive Committee NLT 01 December. Nominations must be endorsed by Wing Chair and shall be forwarded to National Chair for approval by 01 March.
Wing Award Nominations- Must reach Wing Executive Committee NLT 01 March. Note: Wing presentations will be made at the Annual General Meeting (01 April) by the Chair (or designate).
Awards announcements and presentations is the responsibility of the Chair, and should be scheduled as an agenda item at Wing general meetings, or by other means when circumstances dictate, or on other auspicious occasions.
ACCOUNTABILITY
All award applications must be processed through the Wing Executive.
Wing Chair (or designate) will arrange and present all local Wing Awards.
All costs that are associated with the Wing Awards Program shall be within the approved budget for the fiscal year.
