On November 11, I attended the Remembrance Day breakfast at the Courtenay Legion, Branch 17.  This was well attended by members of 888 Wing (probably close to 12).  After the breakfast, five (yes, only five) members, paraded with the veterans from the Courtenay Legion.  Len Kuchynski carried our ensign in the colour party.  This made a total of six Wing members on parade.  I know that there were a lot of others in the audience, as many of them were in AFAC dress.

As our President had to depart 888 Wing after the parade, I would like to thank Bud Wilds for doing the toast with the piper.  It was good to see the turn-out of our members as well as visitors from other organizations.  I stayed well into the afternoon to receive the 19 Wing Commander, his wife and the Wing Chief.  Bottom line is that this was a great function and a large “thank you” to all those who worked many hours to make this such a success.

On the 18th of November, I had the opportunity to attend a fund-raiser lunch for the “Soldier On” program.  Again, this was well attended by our Wing members.

Finally, I would like to say that Kate and I appreciate the judges choosing our costumes to be the best ones at the Hallowe’en Pub Grub.
