Since
the last issue of “Contrails”, we have been saddened with the loss of seven members. Sympathy cards were taken to the families of Joe Moat and Al Tarras.
Sympathy was also extended to Dennis Dupuis and family. Dennis”
mother passed away in August.
I attended the Celebration
of Life and Poppy Service for Bill Matthews in August. Bill was our 2nd Vice
President at the time of his death. I also attended the Memorial Service for
Duke Warren in September. Duke had been a former Wing Padre for a number of years. The Celebration of Life and Poppy Service for Bruce Inrig was held at 888 Wing in
September. Bruce was a Past President and he was instrumental in going to Holberg
with other members and dismantling surplus military buildings, which now house the air cadets of 386 Squadron. He also helped in building 888 Wing. I attended the Celebration
of Life and Poppy Service for Roger MacNeil on November 5 and for Ron Campbell on November 28, both at 888 Wing. I visited and took “Get We;;” or “thinking of You” cards to six members who were
ill.
I hope most of you were able
to get your flu shot. There were a number of outlets in the Valley where the
shot could be received. If you missed a clinic, check with your doctor at his/her
office.
I hope everyone has had a good
summer and that those who travel, arrive home safely. Enjoy the warm weather
while we have it.
